Banijay Asia Partners with Talpa Studios for India and Thailand; Caught in the Middle Expands to Australia and Netherlands; Prime Video Launches Red Carpet Survival in Italy
At Mipcom, Banijay Asia announced a two-year licensing and representation pact with Dutch producer Talpa Studios to bring its unscripted format slate to India and Thailand. Under the agreement, Banijay Asia will act as the regional partner, guiding local adaptation, production support, and distribution of Talpa Studios formats across the Indian and Thai markets. Talpa Studios’ portfolio features international hits such as The Floor, The Quiz with Balls, The Alliance, and Most Wanted, all poised for regional adaptations and commercial rollout in South and Southeast Asia.
In addition, the new quiz format Caught in the Middle has begun international launches, with completed rollouts in Australia and the Netherlands, signaling strong demand for Talpa's innovative game formats in these markets.
Separately, Prime Video has rolled out Red Carpet Survival in Italy, expanding the streamer’s European footprint with a fashion and entertainment-centric reality series that puts celebrity style under the spotlight for Italian audiences.
Together, these developments illustrate a broader trend in global formats where established IPs travel across borders via strategic partnerships with regional players, while streaming platforms push new originals and acquired formats into key national markets.
